Boot Camp Basics – The perfect total body class for beginners or those who want to get back to exercising properly.
Senior Yoga classes are offered in a variety of approaches to meet the needs of ALL Seniors. Every class incorporates a gentle, yet invigorating warm-up; a gradual progression of yoga poses (asanas) to strengthen and stretch the body; corrective breathing techniques (pranayama) to calm and relax the body and mind, forging a mind-body connection; and mental visualization exercises to assist seniors in feeling successful in all aspects of their lives through yoga, thus uplifting the spirit. Individual progress is noticed and always celebrated.
This class will help new mothers get into shape without the need to find a babysitter. Lead by new mom, Jen, this class will focus on building back core strength, grip strength, and stabilizing muscles.
Looking for a fun and dynamic class? Our challenging TRX Bootcamp classes will help you improve full-body strength through various body-weight, functional exercises in a circuit-style class full of camaraderie and fun.
Get a full-body workout but pay some extra attention to your core with a TRXcore class. You’ll feel this one all over, but the TRX is implemented to target the mid-section.
From the Capital Striders: "EVENT: Smithsonian Metro Thursday Evening Run LOCATION: Meet directly on the mall right outside the Smithsonian Metro Station (MALL EXIT) between 6:15 and 6:30 pm. Get started running promptly at 6:30 pm. If you are coming via metro, come up escalator on the mall, turn right at top and head towards Jefferson Street, we meet right at the park benches there. If you drive, there is parking on Jefferson Street - just look for the signs. BEGINNERS - Course will be approximately 3 miles in distance. Run at a pace that is comfortable for you. ADVANCED - Course will be approximately 4 to 5 1/2 miles - pace is typically between an 8 minute mile and 10 minute mile." Register by following the link below.
From the DC Front Runners: "DC Front Runners is a club that serves all runners and walkers in our community: fast and slow; young and old; marathoner and fitness walker; experienced and beginner. Our club holds a regular schedule of non-competitive runs. Depending on the day, we run along Rock Creek Park, the National Mall and the Potomac River. You can choose your distance and set your pace. The group is very diverse in both speed and intensity, and we encourage and support all who participate. So don’t be shy...we’re here to help you achieve your goals and we’ll make sure that you will feel welcome!"
Boot Camp is a high energy, total body strength and conditioning calorie burning workout! You will enjoy the camaraderie and encouragement from myself, and other like-minded boot campers throughout the hour session. Be prepared to increase your metabolism, improve your stamina, and feel much better then you did before you started the class!
Boot camp meets at the training studio located at 1440 N St, NW Ste. 8, and we will then head outdoors to a nearby location, or be indoors in Jan/Feb.
Classes are open to all fitness levels, are 55 min, and capped at 15 people.
