how to establish sustainable nutrition and wellness habits for your unique body. Daira’s personalized approach addresses what, when, and how we eat and helps assess other factors that affect your overall well-being.
Join any or all four sessions hosted every other Thursday starting February 27th from 6:00pm-7:30pm at lululemon Georgetown's Loft. Each session concludes with Q+A to get the most out of each workshop.
Session 1 [February 27]: Developing New and Sustainable Nutrition & Wellness Habits
Cutting through the noise in the nutrition industry can be challenging. During our kick-off event, we will discuss commercial diet plans, why they are not always the best choice and how creating new and sustainable habits allows for long-term health benefits.
Join Allison for an interactive experience designed to help guide you toward identifying your unique roadblocks and identify the specific habits to implement in order to cretae a sustainable strategy for long-term fitness.
In addition to being a local lululemon Ambassador, Alison Heilig is an accomplished ultramarathoner, triathlete, and competitive CrossFit athlete. She is a Level 2 RRCA-Certified Running Coach, a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) & Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), a published author (The Durable Runner), and a podcast host (GRIT + grae Podcast).
Session 2 [March 12]: What the H*** are Macros and How to Use Them
Focusing on macronutrient intake may sound scary but there is true value in knowing how much fat, protein and carbohydrates we should be consuming. If you are ready to take your nutrition to the next level and set a new goal, join the discussion about macro planning and meal timing.

Session 3 [March 26]: Beyond Food: What Else Impacts our Health?
Nutrition is important, but it is not the only factor that impacts our health. In today’s busy world it is very challenging to find a healthy balance between all aspects of wellness, like sleep, stress, and our environment. This session will go in-depth about the importance of sleep, recovery, as well as how to avoid toxins and keep our environment stress-free.
Manager of the DC Composition ID, Mitch August, will lead a thought activity on wellbeing. He is a Health & Wellness Coach who completed his studies through Georgetown University.
Session 4 [April 9]: Meal Prep Workshop: Techniques, Ideas, and Recipes for Efficient Meal Prep
To build on the knowledge from the previous three sessions, the last workshop will explore how to effectively implement everything we have learned over the last two months. Grocery shopping, label reading, and meal planning and prepping will be the focus during the final event.
Daira is a Nutritionist and Wellness Coach passionate about body + mind. With a degree in Food Science and Nutrition, Daira is continuously investing in her practice. She is very much involved in educating her clients about the true power of food, balanced meal planning as well as teaching children and families how to shop, cook and eat healthy on a budget. With over 8 years of experience in nutrition and wellness, Daira specializes in customized planning that fits the individual needs of her clients, whether to reach weight/fat loss goals, optimize fitness performance, or just adapt to healthier eating habits. A strong believer in food as preventative medicine, Daira loves to spend time creating nutrient-rich recipes and is currently finishing her first cookbook. Outside of work, Daira is a passionate hiker who also enjoys running, yoga, meditation, reading, and basketball. She just conquered her first summit - Mount Kilimanjaro and is starting to prepare to summit Aconcagua in 2021.
