IntheCapital's DC Fit will be held this Saturday at the Long View Gallery (Shaw neighborhood) from 10AM - 3PM. The event will feature fitness classes, healthy lifestyle panels, and an expotique where attendees can "try out DC's best fittest brands while snacking on healthy bites and getting tips from our healthy cooking demos." InThe Capital's Christine Healy was kind enough to answer a few questions about the DC fitness extravaganza.

Please provide a basic overview of DC Fit and what people can expect.
DC Fit is a full-day health and fitness expo taking place at Long View Gallery this Saturday, April 5th from 10am-3pm. Tickets are on sale now at dcfit.eventbrite.com. The event will feature new healthy foods, cutting-edge fitness classes, and expert health and wellness panelists. Throughout the event, attendees can roam the expo to drop in on classes and panels or try out products from our sponsors.

How should folks prepare - what should they bring/wear?
Attendees should come in workout gear and ready to move! We suggest wearing something that will be comfortable for classes both indoors and outdoors.

The event has seven fitness classes and five panels. Please offer a few highlights.
We'll have five indoor classes including DanceTrance, YaLa, Tabata, Barre, and Jump and Tone. Outdoors on the terrace, we'll have yoga, pilates, and a boot camp class. Many of the classes are new and aren't offered at most gyms which is why we wanted to give attendees a chance to try a bunch of different classes. As for the panels, we'll have a cooking demo from Zenful Bites and a fashion show from Reebok FitHub as well as discussions about half marathon training, nutrition, and lifetime fitness.

The event is five hours long. Is there a schedule folks can access to plan their day?
Yes, the full schedule of classes and panels is posted on our site. Check it out so you don't miss your favorite class!

Will there be food options available?
We'll have healthy bites from JRINK Juicery, Sweetgreen, Sweet Leaf Cafe, Poste Marathon Bars, Zenful Bites, and more.

Is there anything else you would like to share that we haven't covered?
It's going to be a great event to attend with friends and family. So grab a buddy, set some new health and fitness goals, and we'll see you on April 5th!
