Black Girls Lift: Wait…How much Weight?

Black Girls Lift: Wait…How much Weight?

Sunday, March 5, 2017 - 9:42pm

We Lift Weigts and Each Other

This is 2-part fitness event which will consist of a workshop & a full body work-out. We will teach, guide, and instruct you on exercises (that use weights, of course!) to do at your own gym or at home.

Weight training can be an intimidating activity for anyone who has never used weights before. During this workshop, we will help you understand the basics of weight training. At the end of this workshop, you will be able to put together your own weight training plan.

These are several of the questions which will be addressed during the workshop.
• What is a set?
• What is a rep?
• What is a weight?
• How many sets and reps should I do for each workout?
• How much weight should I be using?
• How often should I be training?
• Submit your own question in advance!
***This will be a 2-part workshop! We will cover further material in a follow up workshop.

A certified fitness trainer will demonstrate proper technique/form for various exercises and then will lead through group through a full 45-minute work-out.

Pariticipants will:
-receive a full 45-minute workout incorporating weight/strength training exercises
-learn how to use weights & machines that target various muscle groups
-meet other Black Girls Lift members and find an accountability partner
-leave knowing how to create your successful own weight training plan
