If you ride a bike, even only indoors, you've heard of the Tour de France. How could you not? It's the largest spectator event in the world. But are you aware of the other grand tours? The Vuelta España (Tour of Spain, held in late August) and the Giro d'Italia (held in May)?
All three cover over 2000 miles in 3 weeks -- with two off days. Simply finishing a grand tour is an accomplishment – tip o' the helmet to Adam Hansen who has finished the last 20 grand tours. Winning a stage is palmares worthy. And a podium finish? That can be career-defining.
This playlist is set to stage 19 of this year's Giro, arguably the queen (most difficult/grueling) stage of a multi-day race. The uphill finish is a signature characteristic of a queen stage.

Most are familiar with the yellow jersey of the Tour de France. The overall leader of Giro d'Italia dons the 'Maglia Rosa" (the pink jersey). This goes back to the page color of the Gazzetta dello Sport Italy's national paper. Outside of the white jersey, similar across all three grand tours, the Giro has its own hues for best climber (blue) and sprinter (red).
So queue up the playlist, choose a jersey and push hard to earn/keep it – FORZA! FORZA! FORZA!
* "Da Ola/ In the Night" is an optional 30-60 second recovery before charging to the top for two minutes.
