Led by VIDA Navy Yard's Lavar Curley - a seasoned run veteran - "Run the Yards" is your sweaty introduction to The Yards Local Run Club; a not-so-intimidating, all-levels run club built with the purpose to help you achieve your sweaty goals this summer.
Starting June 13th and running every Thursday at 7pm until the end of summer, "Run the Yards' is your chance to sweat, grow, and connect through the power of run - right here in the Yards!

About Run Club Leader Lavar Curley:
Lavar has run competitively since attending high school in Arizona, where he also grew up. Lavar would go on to run Cross Country competitively in college before suffering a career-ending injury; however, despite the injury, Lavar was driven by his dream to run a marathon. Fueled by this goal, Lavar overcame what was originally considered a career-ending injury with years of hard rehabilitation to run his first marathon in 2009. He would go on to qualify for the Boston Marathon 13 times, competing in 17 marathons and 3 ultra-marathons. "Running," Lavar says," is no longer a sport to me, but a way of life."
