My name is Julie Margolies and I am a 3-year resident and sole proprietor of Brilliant Body Movement. My philosophy is that movement shoudl be joyful; through my brand I work to provide people with movement opportunities that are mindful, motivational, and in community with others.
I have always been a mover: I was a gymnast until age 18, a performance and competition dancer throughout high school and college, and have been a practitioner of various types of yoga for the past 10 years. These practices have and continue to help me learn more about myself, but I enjoy them even more because I get to share them with others.
My dance and yoga practices are accessible to all levels and experiences and cultivate and expand students’ abilities to connect with their own bodies through movement.
As a Certified Instructor and Community Mentor for BollyX - the Bollywood Workout, I am excited to bring bollywood-inspired dance fitness to DC rockstars in the hopes that it makes them smile - and sweat - and gives them the same joy that Bollywood has brought me!
As a yoga teacher (RYT 200), I encourage students to listen to and respond to their body’s needs and find enjoyment in and appreciation for what they accomplish in each class. My hope is that students leave class feeling a greater sense of connection to themselves and others, gratitude for their own abilities, and assurance in their unique strengths.
